Our Story
ServeHaute was born from a simple frustration: finding volunteer opportunities in Terre Haute shouldn't be this hard.
It took eight years for our founder to discover the Farrington Grove Chorale—a semi-professional choir that's been performing free concerts in Terre Haute since 2000. Eight years to find an organization that perfectly matched their interests, all because it had no website and virtually no online presence.
How many other incredible organizations are hiding in plain sight? How many people who want to serve their community simply don't know where to start?
ServeHaute exists to solve this problem. We're building a comprehensive, searchable directory of every volunteer opportunity in Terre Haute—from food pantries and homeless shelters to youth programs and community arts organizations.

We believe that every person in Terre Haute who wants to volunteer should be able to find the perfect opportunity in minutes, not months or years.

What ServeHaute Is NOT
We want to be transparent about what we are and what we aren't:
- Not a volunteer placement agency - We connect you with organizations, but they manage their own volunteer programs
- Not affiliated with any organization - We're an independent directory; inclusion doesn't mean endorsement
- Not a verification service - We don't conduct background checks or verify nonprofit status (always verify directly)
- Not comprehensive (yet!) - We're constantly adding organizations, but we might have missed some
